DHL Group appoints Joe Joseph as Chief Financial Officer effective June 1, 2027
He will succeed Melanie Kreis, who will fulfill but not extend her contract, which runs until May 31, 2027.
Bonn - The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post AG, the listed parent company of DHL Group, has appointed Joe Joseph as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2027. He will succeed Melanie Kreis, who will fulfill but not extend her contract, which runs until May 31, 2027. She will hand over her responsibilities for the finance function next year to a trusted colleague of many years.
Joe Joseph currently serves as CFO of DHL Express. The Australian native has been with DHL Express for more than 28 years and has held numerous finance leadership roles throughout his career, including the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, before assuming his current position in 2014. He has a strong and recognized track record in the finance function of DHL Express.
"Over two decades, Melanie Kreis has made an outstanding contribution to DHL Group's development. Her strategic foresight, financial expertise, and disciplined focus on value creation have been instrumental in building the company's strong position, and we are deeply grateful for her achievements. With Joe Joseph, an experienced leader within our own ranks is joining the Board of Management as CFO. His tenure as CFO of DHL Express gives us confidence in his ability to ensure continuity and drive our disciplined financial strategy forward," said Dr. Katrin Suder, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post AG.
"For many colleagues at DHL Group, Melanie has been the only CFO they can remember. She embodies integrity, discipline, rationality, and empathy and leaves behind not only strong financial results. She lives the values of DHL Group - Respect and Results - every day and has had a lasting positive impact on the Group's culture. In doing so, she has strengthened the company's performance and resilience and inspired generations of young leaders within the Group and beyond. As a representative of a value-oriented and disciplined financial strategy, she has delivered stable or increasing dividends for ten consecutive years and ensured that shareholders participated in the company's success through share buybacks. With Joe Joseph, a leader who knows our company well, will take over. He is someone who will continue and further develop our successful financial strategy," said Tobias Meyer, CEO of DHL Group.
"It is never easy to find the right moment for a transition like this, but all of us involved are convinced this is the right time to ensure the succession in the best possible way for our company. After more than two decades with DHL Group and 12 years on the Board of Management, I feel deep gratitude for what we have achieved together and great confidence in the company's strong position going forward. I am particularly pleased that Joe, an experienced and trusted successor, is ready to take on the role. Having worked closely with him for many years, I am certain that the Group's finance function will be in very good hands," said Melanie Kreis, CFO of DHL Group.
