DHL Group's employees support refugees

Trainees at the DHL Freight office in Menden, Germany, organized a day of fun at a local home for refugees. Their Global Volunteer Day activity included entertaining kids with a bouncy house, face-painting and glitter tattoos, as well as a waffle and cake booth and donations of clothing and household items.

We motivate our employees to volunteer their time, for example as 'integration guides' for refugees, improving their educational opportunities and the employability of disadvantaged young people. Approximately 100 dedicated coordinators in Deutsche Post branch offices across Germany work closely with several humanitarian organisations to support refugees locally. To date, more than 16,000 employees have been involved in more than 1,500 projects across Germany.
